FAQ

## Nylon Net / Safety Net / Sport Net: questions buyers ask

**Which net is used for construction safety?**

Nitin construction safety nets use 4 mm twisted knotted twine with 100 mm square mesh and a containment net to catch debris, in 10 x 5 m and 10 x 3 m sizes. 2.5 mm braided nets with 25 mm mesh are also used.

**What mesh size is used for a cricket or sports net?**

Nitin sports nets use 2.5 mm braided knotted twine with 30 mm or 50 mm square mesh, or 1.5 mm twine with 25 mm or 50 mm mesh. Smaller mesh is generally preferred for cricket so the ball cannot pass through.

**Which net is used to stop pigeons on a balcony?**

Anti-bird nets for balconies use thin twine with small mesh. Nitin supplies 1 mm braided knotted net with 25 mm square mesh and 1.5 mm nets with 25 mm or 50 mm mesh in white and black, which are less visible from a distance.

**What sizes do safety and sports nets come in?**

Nitin nets come in standard sizes of 50 x 6 m, 30 x 10 m, 50 x 5 m, 50 x 10 m, 10 x 5 m and 10 x 3 m, depending on the grade. Custom sizes are also made.

**What is the difference between knotted and knotless nets?**

Knotted nets tie the twine at each crossing, which is strong and easy to repair. Knotless nets join the strands without knots, giving a smoother, lighter net that is gentler on balls and birds.
