**In short** Wall spikes are rows of pointed metal or plastic spikes fixed along the top of a wall, gate or ledge to deter climbing. **How are wall spikes fixed on a compound wall?**

Metal wall spikes are usually screwed or bolted to the top of the wall with anchors, or set into fresh mortar along the coping. Lighter plastic spikes for ledges can be screwed down or fixed with outdoor adhesive. Keep the run continuous so there are no gaps to grip.

**GI or plastic wall spikes: which should I choose?**

Choose GI spikes for security on compound walls and gates, where strength and a strong deterrent matter. Plastic spikes are lighter and suit bird control on ledges, window sills and signboards. Nitin supplies both variants.

**Do bird spikes harm birds?**
