Fencing for factories and manufacturing units

Perimeter, compound wall and machine-area security for industrial sites.

In shortFactory fencing secures a manufacturing unit's perimeter, compound wall and internal zones against trespass and theft. A typical setup combines chainlink or welded mesh along open boundaries with concertina coil, barbed wire or wall spikes on top of compound walls, and mesh guards around machinery. Nitin Wire Group makes ISI-marked chainlink to IS 2721 and has a new manufacturing unit at Bala Nagar, Hyderabad.

The problem

What you are protecting against

Climbing over compound walls

A plain compound wall can be climbed in seconds; the top edge is where most intruders cross.

Theft from yards and stores

Raw material, scrap and finished goods kept in open yards attract theft, especially at night.

Unguarded machinery

Moving parts, conveyors and electrical panels need guarding so workers cannot reach in by accident.

Corrosion in industrial air

Fumes, humidity and coastal air shorten the life of poorly galvanised fencing.

Planning

How to plan it

  1. Map the zones

Separate the outer perimeter, gate area, storage yard and machine areas; each needs a different level of security.

  2. Secure the wall top

On an existing compound wall, adding concertina coil, barbed wire or spikes along the top is usually cheaper than raising the wall.

  3. Choose the coating for the site

Near the coast or chemical processes, choose heavier galvanising or a PVC coating to slow corrosion.

  4. Plan gates and access early

Fix vehicle and pedestrian gate positions before work starts so posts and foundations are set correctly.

Quality products, professional support and sales people were helpful. Factory manager Mr. Vasu in particular does a very good job putting the customer's interests first and served us well. Even though my site is far away, incurring more transportation cost, I'll definitely buy again from here in future.

This is your go to place for any wire fencing, trellis and other house improvement projects. The staff are very professional and prompt in service. I purchased a very small piece of fence but they treated the same as they would treat their bulk buyers. Rates are very reasonable. I compared prices with other vendors and found that they are the best. They also have a wide range of products.

FAQ

Manufacturing Unit fencing: questions

What is the best fencing for a factory compound wall?

For a factory compound wall, the usual approach is to keep the wall and add a climb-resistant topping such as concertina coil, razor panels, barbed wire or wall spikes. Where there is no wall, chainlink or welded mesh on GI posts with a coil on top gives a secure, see-through boundary.

Is chainlink fencing strong enough for industrial use?

Yes, when the wire thickness, coating and posts are chosen for the site. Nitin Wire Group's ISI-grade chainlink is made to IS 2721 with hot-dip galvanised wire and is intended for factories, ports, railway yards and institutional campuses.

What is the difference between concertina coil and razor panel?

Concertina coil is razor wire formed into a spiral coil and fixed along the top of walls and fences. A razor panel is flat: straight razor-blade netting welded into a sheet and used as a fence or infill. Coils suit wall tops; panels suit straight boundary runs.

Can Nitin chainlink be used for tender and government projects?

Yes. Nitin Wire Group's ISI-grade chainlink is made to IS 2721, and the company offers it for tenders, government projects and infrastructure work. Ask the sales team for the specification sheet to match your tender requirements.

How do you guard factory machinery with mesh?

Machine guards are usually made from expanded metal or welded mesh fixed to a steel frame, so operators can see the machine but cannot reach moving parts. The openings must be small enough to keep fingers out. Nitin supplies expanded metal in a range of gauges and opening sizes.
