What makes it work
- ISI-marked to IS 2721
The ISI grade meets the Indian standard for chain link fencing, so it is accepted for tenders, government and infrastructure work.
- Zinc-aluminium coating
Class 3 hot-dip zinc-aluminium coated wire resists rust in coastal, humid and high-corrosion zones.
- Three grades
Choose ISI (LIFENCE®), Premium or Market grade, classified by life expectancy, to match service life to budget.
- Made to your size
Mesh opening, wire diameter, height and coating can be specified for farm, poultry, residential or industrial use.
- Marked wire
Authentication marking on the wire lets buyers trace and verify the product.
- Builds into a security fence
Add barbed wire, concertina coil or razor wire on top for high-security perimeters.

Chainlink Fence: questions buyers ask
What is the price of chain link fence per sq ft?
There is no single rate: chain link fence price per square foot depends on wire thickness, aperture, height, coating and grade. Heavier wire, smaller openings and ISI-grade coating cost more. Nitin Wire Group's free Find my fence tool on the homepage estimates the materials you need, and the sales team quotes against your exact size and quantity.
What is the difference between ISI and non-ISI chain link fence?
ISI chain link fence is certified to IS 2721, the Indian standard that sets wire, mesh and zinc coating requirements, and is usually required for government tenders. Nitin offers an ISI grade (LIFENCE®) plus Premium and Market grades, classified by life expectancy, for buyers balancing service life against budget.
Which wire gauge of chain link fence should I choose?
As general practice, 2.5 mm to 3 mm wire suits most farm and plot boundaries, 4 mm wire suits industrial and high-security perimeters, and thinner wire suits light-duty or poultry fencing. Nitin makes chain link from 1.6 mm to 4 mm, so the gauge can be matched to the risk and budget.
How far apart should chain link fence posts be?
Chain link fence posts are commonly spaced 2.5 to 3 metres apart, with stronger braced posts at ends, corners and gates to take the pull of the mesh. Closer spacing helps on soft soil, tall fences or windy sites. Line wires at the top and bottom keep the mesh taut between posts.
Is chain link fence suitable for coastal areas?
Yes, if the coating is right. Nitin's chain link uses a Class 3 hot-dip zinc-aluminium coating, which the company states performs well in coastal, humid and high-corrosion zones. For sites very close to the sea, PVC coated chain link adds a further barrier over the galvanised wire.
What is the difference between knuckle end and barb end chain link?
On knuckle end chain link the wire ends at the top and bottom edges are bent back into smooth loops, which is safer where people or animals brush against the fence. On barb end chain link the ends are twisted into sharp points that deter climbing. Nitin supplies both.
