Perforated Sheet: questions buyers ask
What sizes do perforated sheets come in?
Nitin Wire Group supplies perforated sheets in standard 3 ft x 8 ft and 4 ft x 8 ft sizes, 0.8 mm to 3 mm thick, with hole diameters from 3 mm to 25 mm. Custom sheet sizes and hole patterns are made on request.
Can perforated sheet be used for a building facade?
Yes. Perforated aluminium, GI or stainless steel sheet is widely used for facade cladding, sun screens and balcony panels because it shades the building while letting air and some light through. Facade sheets are usually powder coated after punching.
What is the open area of a perforated sheet?
Open area is the share of the sheet taken up by holes. It depends on hole size and the spacing (pitch) between holes. Larger holes on a tighter pitch give more open area, more airflow and lower strength.
Which material is best for perforated sheet?
Mild steel is the most economical but needs painting. GI resists rust for general outdoor use. Stainless steel suits food, pharma and wet areas. Aluminium is light and corrosion resistant, which suits facades and ceilings.
What are perforated sheets used for?
Perforated sheets are used for building facades, ceiling and acoustic panels, ventilation grilles, machine guards, filter and sieve plates, speaker grilles, staircase railings and decorative partitions.
